We believe in “Connecting, Empowering and Growing Northland’s Creative Sector.”

Our organisation is mandated to develop the arts and cultural sector within the Northland region. We inspire creative endeavour through artistic projects, touring opportunities, education and specialised resources to develop and sustain our creative community’s artistic practice all over Tai Tokerau.

Creative Northland is supporting 9 amazing tech-focused events this year, in collaboration with Dr. Maggie Buxton (Creative Technology Northland), NGEN Room, Whangarei Central Library, Facebox, Quarry Arts Centre, Questionable Research Labs and independent creatives in Northland.

There’s an event for everyone’s interest!

Come along on 20 – 29th May at the Quarry Gardens for a spectacular sculpture exhibition of over 100 artworks by 50 talented Northland artists. There will be a wide variety of high quality artworks, celebrating works for art and garden lovers alike.

Open 9am – 4pm daily.

Entry $10 (general); $5 (5-12 years)

ANZAC Theatre, Te Puni Kōkiri and Creative Northland have joined forces to celebrate Matariki by hosting a short Film Competition, so we’re CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS to film and submit a fresh new concept, an intriguing script. Entry is free and open to anyone who resides in Northland and wants to see their story on the big screen!
The Judges are looking for creative films between 5-7 minutes, with an underlying #Matariki theme.
