NorthTec’s applied arts programmes encompass qualifications across a range of media including photography, painting, print-making, digital media, ceramics and sculpture.

Extend your artistic talent with the New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design (Level 4). This inspiring hands-on, studio-based programme will allow you to explore and expand your skills in a range of visual arts and design mediums. You will gain a solid grounding in a range of design and arts media as well as art and design history. It is an excellent staircasing programme for entry into the Bachelor of Applied Arts degree.​ The New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design is six months duration, four days per week, February and July intakes. The Bachelor in Applied Arts offers majors in Visual Arts and Digital Arts.

With this degree programme you will be able to take personal art and design ideas, underpinned by research of contemporary practice, through to quality finished products in selected media. It has a strong practical focus and subjects on offer include drawing, art history, sculpture, photography, graphic design, clay, glass, printmaking and digital design. The Bachelor in Applied Arts can be studies part-time or full-time, and has both February and July intakes.  For more information click here
